How to read and memorize what you read: tips and rules

memorise - Liberal Dictionary

We were taught to read, but not taught to do it right

Ever since school days, they tried to instill in us a love of reading, but they did it completely wrong, having taught simple reading, no one taught us to read CORRECTLY . In his student years, everything becomes even worse: fiction, which was even the slightest bit interesting, is replaced by scientific literature, which is incredibly boring and tedious to read.

Today we will tell you how it is CORRECT to read both abstruse scientific publications and fiction. The most important thing for both the student and the student is not only to understand what he has read, but also to remember. Especially for this, we have collected four basic rules that will help you in this difficult matter.

I think I won't be lying when I say that many of those who are now reading this article, like me, easily remember some useless nonsense, which is useless, either in school or in real life.

There are many techniques for memorizing what you read, but their effectiveness ranges from "not working at all" to "useful and really working." We have selected the most correct and useful ones for you, so that you can successfully prepare for the session and exams.

Rule # 1: Create interest in information.

The longest railway is in Australia, but even more interesting, there is not a single turn along its entire length of 478 kilometers!
Interesting , huh? And here's another!
In medieval Europe, they drank 300 liters of beer a year, and this is all because the means of filtering water were not developed, and the fermentation used in brewing beer killed most of the bacteria, which made the beer safer than water.

Interesting facts, but useless, only I am sure that the majority of those who have read at least one of these facts will remember. Just because they're cool.

Now let's remember something from textbooks and books:

Partial pressure - the pressure that would be occupied by the gas that is part of the gas mixture if it alone occupied a volume equal to the volume of the mixture at a given temperature.
It was molecular physics, but here is a bit of biology with Mendel's first law:
When crossing two homozygous organisms belonging to different pure lines and differing from each other in one pair of alternative manifestations of the trait, the entire first generation of hybrids (F1) will be uniform and will carry the manifestation a sign of one of the parents.

Boredom and tediousness flew into one ear, flew into the other. Even cramming will not help you remember this information for a long time . Within a day or two, you will no longer remember the law of uniformity of the first generation hybrids. And this is normal, because the information is presented in the most uninteresting way.

Entertain yourself! Take a friend or girlfriend and have a challenge, who will learn more biology terms or Mendel's laws. You will immediately have motivation and interest, which means that the information will be easier to digest and remember.

Rule number 2: first familiarize yourself with the topic, then with questions about it.

Unfortunately, most schoolchildren and students do exactly the opposite, and this is wrong. First, you need to understand the essence of the topic being studied, delve into the details, and then analyze the questions on this topic.

The main idea behind this rule is that it is easier to progress from simple to complex when reading. General knowledge of a discipline or a topic will help in further in-depth study.

It is wrong to study enterprise management without knowing the basics of accounting. If you have any problems with this, we are always ready to advise you on how best to deal with your accounting assignment

Rule # 3: divide et impera or divide and conquer!

In the first century BC, this rule was applied by Gaius Julius Caesar himself, and why are we worse?

Here the supervisor gave you books for term paper, you should not indiscriminately grab onto everything. Nothing good will come of it. The teacher wants you to be fluent in the topic and know everything, everything, everything, but we understand that this is impossible.

Huge mountains of literature, how to choose the one that we need more than others? This is where the Caesar method comes to our aid, it lies in the fact that you choose only what coincides with your views and feelings on the chosen topic, filtering out everything else.

This is one of the most obscure, but at the same time, the most effective way to study information!

There are many more effective ways to assimilate information, the best, for example: to check what you read experimentally. Trial and error will be more useful than even the most thoughtful reading, but this is still a little past the topic that we touched on initially. is working very well with items such as physics or astronomy. If you do not understand how to do this and you have questions about astronomy, we will help you with this

In student life, it often happens that it is not possible to physically read all the necessary literature, and then wrap it up in some kind of written work. If this happened to you, then the essay assistant is ready to help you! Order work of any level of complexity from us on our Website and save yourself from unnecessary headaches and sleepless nights. The rating "Excellent" is provided to you!
